Czech Republic train route – Autumn edition

Czech Republic train route – Autumn edition

In this Czech Republic train route, I’ll show you the best places for an autumn trip. Of course, you can take this train trip any time of the year, but autumn ads to the charm and the wine region really should be visited during harvest season. You’ll read why in the guide. You’ll also read everything you need to know about the Czech trains, where to book your tickets, the travel times between the stops and how long the route takes you. It’s a DIY guide, which means I give you every detail you need to book your trains, but you’ll have to book them yourself and book accommodations and activities separately. I give good reasons for the stops you’ll make, but more detailed information will be in the blogposts you’ll find at the end of the guide, as well as my recommended platforms for said accommodations and activities.

It’s a good mix between nature/adventure, spa days, Prague as the big city and the cozy wine region. With options to add more big cities, cute towns or nature. So it has something for everything and gives a perfect idea about the country, even if you only have a little bit of time.

French wine route

French wine route

French wine is populair around the globe, but what better place to try it than in France? The French drink the most glasses of wine per person per year, and it always goes with everything. Lunch? Wine. Dinner? Wine. Something to celebrate? Wine. Sunny day? Wine. Cheese board? Wine to go with it. And as the world’s largest wine producer, there is thus no better place to taste fine wines. From red wine in Bordeaux, to Champagne in the one and only Champagne region, you’ll pass everywhere with this wine tour.

From start to finish, the itinerary takes about 23 hours of train travel time, spread over 9 stops. (Including Paris as a stop, excluding travel time to Paris.) Most train rides are max 3 hours, so it’s good to combine with a full breakfast before you leave, lunch at a stop along the way or already a fun activity at the next destination. There is only 1 long train ride that takes a day.

I recommend taking at least 14 days for this trip. However, you could combine some stops, because of the short travel time. If you do that and possibly skip Paris as a stop, you could do the route in a week, but it would be a rushed trip.
